Sun Mandala was Featured on “CBS Sunday Morning” on Jan. 2, 2022

On Sunday morning January 2nd, immediately following a heartfelt piece “Good deeds from a mother’s love” with Steve Hartman, on CBS Sunday Morning “Sun Mandala” was featured for the third time on the show’s broadcast and taking the viewing audience to commercial break.

Wow, three times, I am over the moon about this. To have an artwork of mine publicated on TV, and on a worldwide stage of a legendary news program is very exciting for me.

Here’s a little backstory. This segment with my mandala to follow was suppose to air the day after Christmas, December 26th, but worldwide breaking news of Archbishop Tutu’s passing bumped the story with no new date scheduled to show my mandala again, but I was told they would use my mandala at a later date.

I was then notified on new years that the piece from Steve Hartman and my Sun Mandala would be on tomorrow morning’s show. I didn’t expect it to be so soon and the day after New Years. I come to find out early Sunday morning that one of my fellow artist friends was going to have one of his images on the show too. That made it all the more worthwhile as David Manlove was the one who opened this new door for me and I love his work. Great way to start the new year off.

I look back to when I first started drawing mandalas in October 2019 (Wow it’s been 2 years!!) and I think it is safe for me to say my work is evolving. I have many more tools in my toolbox now that I used to create my recent pieces, but I truly wish to continue to develop as an artist. I have to admit I am curious as to where this will lead me next, creatively. Drawing mandalas has certainly been good for my psyche and for my thirst to create. The reception over the last few months has also been favorable, which I find encouraging and continues to inspire me.

Sun Mandala was Featured on “CBS Sunday Morning”

What a joy and honor it was to have had my “Sun Mandala” featured on CBS Sunday Morning show twice in 2021!

First, on July 11th, 2021 immediately following a great segment about London’s Royal Albert Hall history.

Second, was on October 10th, 2021 immediately following a segment with the lovely Olivia Rodrigo.

Such a wonderful achievement to have my image viewed by an audience of maybe millions, and very proud moments as an artist I was able to share with my loved ones.

Image of the Month: June 2021

Featuring

Dream Along the Ocean

Sunrise photograph, taken in 2009 on Mantoloking Beach, in New Jersey.

I am more inclined to shoot the later part of the day over getting up and out at the start of a day. But this is one occasion I did so and if I am recalling correctly, its the second time I specifically got up early to head to the beach for a sunrise. The early morning hours, later in the day or during the off-season are my preferred times to not only be on the beach but to photograph the landscape.

The ocean was calm and the beach was very peaceful. The softness felt visually, is by the slightly slow shutter speed used and it being the light of dawn, as the sun was just beginning to reach the horizon line on a mostly cloudy covered sky. I digitally enhanced and embellished the scene with a full rainbow, and a purple tone filter to complete this dreamscape photograph.

Newest Coastal Mandala Inspired Art Design Upload

Seaside Mandala by Angie Tirado

This mandala inspired art is my latest upload that is coastal themed.

Living in a coastal community offers me limitless availability to enjoy all the things the ocean has to offer here in New Jersey. Most of my work represents my love and deep appreciation of the natural oceanic world and the beauty I get to witness living on the east coast, which I interpret artistically in my own images whether in a photograph or in a digital art drawing.

I began this piece last summer and have revisited it throughout the year to add to it as I was inspired to create a piece that is very much my own. This design is filled with elements relating to the ocean and living on the coast from octopuses to breaking waves.

Prints are available in a large assortment of styles and sizes. Many of the additional products, like home decor and lifestyle items have an available option to change the background color.

A Spring Season Journey as an Amateur Photojournalist

In the spring of 2011, I was contacted by an editor from Holmdel Patch.com, who stumbled upon some of my spring images I had available on my website and took at Holmdel Park the year before. She asked me if I would be interested in sharing these images with their readers and include a how-to article offering some basic photography tips.

Digital cameras were becoming widely popular and I was one of those people who not only embraced this new digital photography hobby, I became very passionate about photography and ended up taking an online photography class through the local community college in 2008.

Having the opportunity to do that article was something I just couldn’t say no to, even though I had no prior photo journalism experience. So I did the article and what followed was a new business relationship with the editor throughout that spring covering events in that area.

Over the next few months, I provided all the photographs for the following articles published. I was so nervous each time I arrived at an event, but when I would pull my camera out of the camera bag and threw it’s strap behind my neck it did turn into a fun day. A busy one but definitely fun. It all was a wonderful learning experience. I met a lot of interesting people and interacting with a lot of the kids was great too. Memories I will always cherish.

Join me in celebrating this 10-year anniversary of an impactful milestone in my life by having a look at the articles.

In the 2 additional articles, credit went to the writers I collaborated with.

Angie Tirado Art’s First Blog Entry

Hi there! Thank you for stopping by my new blog and my very first entry!

You very likely don’t know me yet, but I have for most of the last 12 years done photography part-time and after mulling over many considerations I have decided to begin dedicating a lot more time on capturing images, creating artworks, seeking photographic opportunities and marketing my fine art and digital art to make it the profitable business I desire it to become.

This blog is where I would like to grow an engaging audience by sharing stories about some past photographic experiences, as well as offer news or information about things like certain images and collections, and give you a place to get to know me a little as a creative person. Of course, pictures will be all over the place too.

I have over the last few months, had a real desire to start writing. I don’t have any training, but I seem to like to write way more then I like to talk. Although, I am writing in a conversating way now, so go figure. But a blog is how I decided to write creatively and informatively so here I am.

Sharing my interests and passion with the world, hoping someone finds interest in them and enjoys them enough to come back, maybe share it out even? Hint, hint. Is very pleasurable for me. Truth is, I love being creative, I love sharing content with people and it just feels great when someone tells me they love some of my work or one of my pictures. Even when I get the emails telling me I made a sale, never gets old. I still get excited about them, even all these years later.

Earning money to do what I love, I think most people strive for that kind of career and life. Making it happen though, can be hard, really hard. Being an anxious introvert as I am, makes this so so so challenging. But the internet has given us introverts some reach. Yay!

Unfortunately, my viewership has been dipping steadily over the years. But I am hoping now that we found each other, you might be willing to help me get some eyes balls on my work again? I know it’s a big ask, but it’s a request with the upmost appreciation and please know, it will fuel me and my desire. It will greatly energize me and keep me inspired to eagerly produce more beautiful content. I am excited to move forward on this new journey that will take me to the land of my dreams… Was that last part a bit much? Well, I figured since I am a blogger now, I can have a little fun with words too.

So, have a look around, share me and my work with your online friends & followers maybe, subscribe with your email so you don’t miss out on any fun and fascinating posts, and feel free to leave a comment to say hello and tell me how you liked my first blog post. Was it too long? Grammar errors? Made you smile? Share with me what you had for dinner? Ask me a question? I will reply. I’m good like that.

Ohh!! Be sure to look for the cute little social buttons and click on the ones you use to follow me, if you are inclined to do so… Tip, I use Twitter the most. My website link will always be available among the “Follow Me” social buttons too, for very convenient access.

Thank you for stopping by, for helping me with some exposure and for taking the time to read what I had to say! I hope to see you again very soon! Please stay tuned while I figure out more of the workings of this WordPress account. I’ll try to have something you’ll enjoy posted within the week.
